If you are a daredevil looking for an action-filled outdoor activity near Kathmandu, Nepal’s 1st Superman Ziplining is for you.

The starting point for Dhulikhel Zipline is situated at Thalke Dada (2300m above sea level), just 33 km east of Kathmandu near the Newari hilltop settlement of Dhulikhel. It takes only about an hour and a half to reach there via vehicle.

The zip line features a 72m vertical drop and depending upon your weight it can reach up to 90 mph. At 1.1 km in length, on average, it takes about 1.5 minutes to land at the endpoint situated at Khawa, Panchkhal.

Ziplining in Dhulikhel, available any season, not only offers a thrill like no other but also the chance to get a birds-eye view of the Gaurishankar range. 

About the activity

Ziplining is an adrenaline-filled activity where one glides down on a harness attached to a  metal cable from a higher starting point than the ending point. The zip line uses a pulley system that decreases friction allowing for acceleration. In short, you will feel like a bird diving downwards!

For the daredevils out there, the Superman Zipline is the way to go! Found nowhere else in Nepal but here, Superman Zipline attaches the harness on your back to face downwards. So as you glide down the zip line, you can strike your hero pose to feel how Superman feels while flying!
